23-year old lefty swinging 1B/3B Brett Wallace is ripping the ball in AAA. He has played in 25 games in AAA ball this season and he is 27 of 94 (.287 avg, 1.006 OPS) with 18 runs scored, 9 homers and 20 RBIs. Wallace was the A’s #2 rated prospect before he was traded to the Blue Jays according to Baseball America. With Lyle Overbay stinking it up at the major league level it might only be a matter of time until the Jays call Wallace up and insert him into the starting lineup at 1B.
