Shawn Camp has found a home with the Toronto Blue Jays
When the Blue Jays signed now 34-year old righty reliever Shawn Camp three years ago his career was on like support. In his first four years in the majors with the Jays and Devil Rays, Camp pitched in 196 games (0 starts) in which he was 10-13 with 6 saves, a 5.27 ERA and a 1.58 WHIP. But he has really found himself in Toronto and he’s having the best year of his career in 2010. He has pitched in 58 games (0 starts) for the Blue Jays this year and he is 4-3 with 1 save, a 2.71 ERA and a 1.10 WHIP. Camp has now pitched in 157 games (0 starts) in his three years with the Jays and he is 9-10 with 2 saves, a 3.36 ERA and a 1.22 WHIP. Camp cleared waivers before the trade deadline and a lot of teams were interested in him but the Jays did the smart thing in keeping him for the future.
