31-year old lefty swinging utility man Joe Inglett got stiffed by the Blue Jays this season playing most of it in AAA. He has played in 35 games for the Jays this season and he is 25 for 89 (.281 avg, .695 OPS) with 11 runs scored, 6 RBIs and 3 stolen bases. Inglett has now played in 210 games in his major league career and he is 187 for 639 (.293 avg, .745 OPS) with 82 runs scored, 5 homers, 68 RBIs and 18 stolen bases. Inglett deserves to play in the major leagues next season and the Blue Jays should treat him right. If they are going to send him to AAA to start next season they ought to do Inglett a favor and trade him.

Double play combo is carrying the Toronto Blue Jays

The Blue Jays came into this season with question marks at both 2B and SS. Aaron Hill had a lost season in 2008 due to a nasty concussion so the Blue Jays weren’t sure if he would be near 100% this year. Marco Scutaro had never been a starting player until this season and the Jays weren’t sure whether or not he would be able to handle the job. But, Hill and Scutaro have turned into one of the best double play combos in all of baseball. Hill has played in 141 games this season for the Blue Jays and he is 175 for 612 (.286 avg, .818 OPS) with 89 runs scored, 32 homers, 98 RBIs and 4 stolen bases. The power is very surprising for Hill as his career highs were 17 homers and 78 RBIs coming into this season. Marco Scutaro has also played in 141 games this season for the Blue Jays and he is 160 for 563 (.284 avg, .794 OPS) with 99 runs scored, 12 homers, 60 RBIs and 13 stolen bases. The coolest thing about Hill and Scutaro is that they are both “get dirty” effort players who will do anything possible to win a game.

Adam Lind is having a breakout season for the Toronto Blue Jays

Adam Lind has been incredible this season for the Blue Jays. He has played in 81 games for the Blue Jays this season and he is 98 for 316 (.310 avg, .944 OPS) with 49 runs scored, 18 homers and 57 RBIs. Lind is repaying the Blue Jays for the patience they’ve shown with him.

Aaron Hill has been outstanding this season for the Toronto Blue Jays

Aaron Hill is making up for lost time. Last season he missed a large chunk of the season due to a very serious concussion. Hill has shown no signs of any problems stemming from last year’s injuries to this point. Hill has played in 45 games for the Blue Jays this season and he is 68 for 195 (.349 avg, .937 OPS) with 30 runs scored, 11 homers and 35 RBIs. The fact that Hill is hitting so many homers now shouldn’t surprise too many people as just two years ago he cracked 47 doubles and 17 homers. The Blue Jays need Hill to keep hitting like he is right now as he appears to be carrying the offense.

Adam Lind has been on fire with the bat for the Toronto Blue Jays

25-year old Adam Lind appeared overmatched in his first 6 games of the season for the Blue Jays in which he was 1 for 19 (.053 avg) with 1 run scored. This earned him a trip to the minors but he didn’t pout as he got another chance with the Blue Jays and he has run with it. In his last 24 games for the Blue Jays, Lind is 31 for 85 (.365 avg) with 16 runs scored, 5 homers and 22 RBIs. Look for the Blue Jays to move Lind up in the order if he keeps hitting like he is right now as the Jays have had problems scoring thus wasting good pitching.
